Following the 50th Anniversary Service in the church, parents, pupils, staff and Board of Governors held a presentation to mark the retirement of Mrs Anne Crossett who had taught in the school since 1981.
The children in P5 - P7 recalled memories of Mrs Crossett as their teacher and Principal. The children from P1-P7 sang a special arrangement written by Mrs Lyttle entitled "Let Her Go." Mrs Kelso paid tribute to Mrs Crossett's teaching career in Kilross with a special poem written for the occasion. Following this Mr Graham Mawhinney, Chairperson of the Board of Governors, paid tribute to Mrs Crossett and her family. Mrs Hogg along with the children then presented Mrs Crossett with a beautiful painting of the surrounding area and countryside, flowers and other gifts. In her reply Mrs Crossett paid tribute to all the support her staff, the parents and Board of Governors had given to her over the past 36 years at Kilross and especially since she had become Principal in 1993; to the support from other primary schools in the local area and to the children who simply 'were the best.' Mrs Crossett would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for the many gifts, best wishes and cards she has received on the occasion of her retirement from Kilross Primary School.
